Lord Jesus Christ, who for the redemption of the world didst ascend the wood of the cross, that Thou mightest enlighten the whole world that lay in darkness; pour that light, we pray Thee, into our hearts and bodies, whereby we may be enabled to attain to the light eternal, O Thou who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
